My first Julep came in the mail!

Hey guys, I have some very exciting news to share with you! My very first Julep maven box came in the mail yesterday :) For only one cent, I was more than pleased with the products I received. I got the American Beauty maven box, which included two beautiful nail polish colors, Kelly and Emma. Kelly is described on the website as a blushed pink creme and Emma is a shimmery sheer pink with iridescent shine. Upon ordering the American Beauty box, the website said that Julep's Elixir Organic Argan Oil would be included. However, as you will later see, I received a Glycolic Hand Scrub instead, which is just as fine considering I only paid a cent! Perhaps, with the popularity of the maven boxes at such a cheap price, they ran out of the argan oil, but that is not under my control. I'm just happy I was able to receive some pretty polishes ^_^ Below, I will provide pictures of the overall packaging in which the products came in and some swatches. Enjoy :)

Here is the maven box that I received in the mail, just a simple black cardboard with the name Julep printed on the sides.

Upon first opening the box

Beneath the two cards of paper: the lovely products and their packaging

Glycolic Hand Scrub (aka a facial for the hands)

Emma is to the left & Kelly is to the right

Another shot of the two gorgeous nail colors

Two coats of Kelly and one coat of Emma (pic not taken in direct sunlight, but this typically how the color appears on the nails, quite peachy :)

Sitting next to a window w/ direct sunglight, holding the nail color 'Kelly'. & Yes, it is exactly what it looks like in the bottle. Kelly leans a little more on the peachy side rather than a light pink creme.

This shot really captures the complexity of the shimmer in Emma.

So what do I think of the Julep American Beauty March maven box? Other than it being a steal, I think Kelly and Emma will make wonderful additions to anyone's nail polish collection! The application process of these polishes weren't too bad. I was able to achieve full opacity with Kelly using two coats, albeit it did require some precision in order to avoid some streaks. I can see some people using three coats, but I was satisfied with just two. Emma on its own was very sheer and shimmery. It would work just as fine alone if you only wanted something simple with a little sparkle :) The combination of the two turned out beautifully. These polishes seem like they would suit a variety of skin tones AND it's absolutely perfect for spring!

If you are not already signed up with Julep and are interested in purchasing these polishes or checking out some of their other colors, you may use my referral link to do so:
